Port Macquarie – Observatory

One day you might find yourself in Port Macquarie saying to yourself – “What shall I do this evening?”. Besides drinking and eating, there is of course – the Observatory (http://www.pmobs.org.au).

The Observatory has open evenings where they let you look through their telescope and give a presentation about the Solar System and so on. There is a tourist brochure which makes it look quite exciting…

However, it’s basically a weird bloke with a PC attached to a projector opening up various files in a random order and talking about them. The whole experience was pretty weird – and WHAT’S MORE IT WAS CLOUDY – so we couldn’t see anything through the telescope.

We were disappointed Pommies.
