Sydney Ferries

Ferries! First Fleet class and Freshwater class together

Have I mentioned that we love the ferries? Yes – well we do. ESPECIALLY the ‘First Fleet Class‘ – we love these – these are our favourites because they are CUTE! 🙂

The ‘River Cat Class‘ don’t really have any charm – we’re not a fan of those really – AND they go to Parrammatta – and who wants to go there 🙂

The big ferries that go to Manly are OK with us – they are called the ‘Freshwater Class‘ – they are pretty much just big versions of the First Fleet Class.

And finally, last but no means least = The Lady Class – you usually have to go to the Zoo to go on these – they are a funny shape,  but in the right spirit.

Essentially – the criteria is that if it’s painted green and gold we like it – if it isn’t – we don’t. Simple formula for simple Pommies. It’s not just us – I was waiting at Balmain ferry terminal for the ferry. The Balmain ferry is always from the First Fleet class = small, cute, green and gold. However on this day, an ugly substitute ferry turned up. There was a small child next to me with his mum. When he saw the ferry coming he started bawling and crying ‘I want to go on the real ferry, I want to go on the real ferry’ over and over again. My thoughts exactly…
