Wooloomooloo and Harry’s Cafe de Wheels

Welcome to Wooloomooloo

Welcome to Wooloomooloo

After being booted out of the Australian Museum at 5pm, we went for a stroll east of the City. We haven’t been out that way before, so we got to sample the delights of Wooloomooloo (what a cool name – us Pommies can’t match that for a name) and the infamous Kings Cross – ‘The Cross’ as they call it here – party centre of Sydney.

‘The Cross’ didn’t seem that exciting a party destination – but then we are London Pommies – it takes a lot to impress us 🙂

The scutty Cross soon gave way to posh areas, as it’s fairly central and close to the water, and we ended up passing the World famous Harry’s Cafe de Wheels.

GET THIS – No lesser mortals than Angel from Home and Away (Melissa George), and COLONEL SANDERS (A personal hero of mine – and many others) had eaten at this trailer cafe – it’s been there since the 1930s!

AWESOME.
