New Year’s Eve in Thredbo

AHHH – New Year’s Eve in Thredbo! They know how to put on a party here – a choice between karaoke at the bar of the hotel we were staying at, or live entertainment in the square. YES – YOU HEARD ME RIGHT – LIVE MUSIC!

The star of the show was Adam Thompson, *famous* – yes so famous not even a wikipedia entry – OMG –  from the band Chocolate Starfish – yes CHOCOLATE STARFISH – what kind of a terrible name is that! No self-respecting Pommie band would ever have a name like ‘chocolate starfish’…

The set consisted of Bon Jovi cover versions – and some other cover versions – and dodgy Aussie rock anthems – sorry – there is a fat streak of *naff* running through Aussie pub rock that us Pommies just don’t get.

Still – a good time was had by all – especially the *old* people dancing in a weird way. (Not me I hasten to add)

No you are not imagining it - they did in fact use a truck for the stage.
