The Snowy Mountains

The Snowy Mountains are the highest in Australia – and it was our next stop. The main town before the national park is Jindabyne, which has a nice lake, and a bit of a resort feel to it.

Our destination though was Thredbo – a ski resort in winter, with mountain-biking and walking in summer. There are a few good walks on the mountain, including the one up to the summit of Mount Kosciuszko

The most scenic though – in our humble Pommie opinion was the trail down to Dead Horse Gap – what a cool name – you’d never get a name like that in Pommie land. The trail was great – beautiful snow gum trees and good views all round.
