Now I’ve got nothing against cockroaches personally – BUT I DON’T WANT THEM IN MY BLOODY HOUSE!
Pommie land is blessed by a general absence of cockroaches, but not so here in Sydney. There were a significant number that kept appearing in our house. At first I was kind and lenient, and I caught them in a plastic tub and chucked them out at the end of the garden… BUT ENOUGH IS ENOUGH – they didn’t take the message.
I did some roach research and was astounded to find that there were American Cockroaches, and German Cockroaches – bloody foreigners. Anyway the big ones are American, and the fast-multiplying little ones are German.
Apparently you have to get rid of them or they stay in your house forever and breed. So – I got some handy Mortein Nest Kill, which is basically little black plastic pods with poison in, and placed them strategically around the house.
Pretty good results – we used to see 2 or 3 every night, now it’s more like one every couple of weeks. For those who think that one cockroach every two weeks is too many – I suggest you don’t come and live in Sydney.
